Bread-y or knot
At Bread & Blooms, we pride ourselvs on our Sourdough bread and specialty baked goods (they're seriously delicious). Bread has been a constant in Hunt's life thanks to his mother baking bread almost every day in her bread maker. Three years ago, Kelly gifted Hunt a baker's cloche and "Flour Water Salt Yeast" by Ken Forkish which he dove head-first into and started making his own artisan breads. This led to creating “Claude” the sourdough starter and crafting delicious sourdough loaves the way it was done before instant yeasts. For all of his bakes, Hunt prioritizes using the best ingredients, locally sourced when possible. Each loaf is a testament to his passion for creating a simple yet profound staple that brings joy to those around him.
Standard Offerings
Shaped into batards, our country loaf (pictured above) has just the right amount of tang you would expect from a sourdough loaf. The addition of whole wheat and rye flours bring a nuttiness to the loaf that make it a staple in our bread baking.
Looking to please a crowd? Try our sourdough dinner rolls! They're ​tangy, soft, and ideal for spreading butter on. A definite must-have not only during the holiday season but also any time of the year - they never disappoint!
Speciality Offerings
Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Loaf (pictured above) - The roasted garlic and rosemary flavor of this loaf make it a great dipper for olive oil.
Rosemary and Smoked Sea Salt Focaccia - Infused with the earthy aroma of rosemary, and the addition of smoked sea salt adds a subtle smokiness.
Sweet Treats
At Bread & Blooms we are always baking up extra goodies! Anything from cookies to French Pastry (and beyond!) We will always have specialty items available to order! A couple of our favorites include:
Double Chocolate Rye Cookies - If you love chocolate, this is the cookie for you! The rye flour mellows the sweetness while allowing the chocolate flavor to shine.
Chaussons Aux Pommes (pictured above): Fancy apple turnovers with a flaky, golden brown crust that are filled with sliced apples and vanilla apple butter.
Local pick-up
Local pick-up in Windham, Maine or at upcoming Farmer's Markets throughout Southern Maine (check our Instagram for details).
